When doctors first diagnosed my mother and told her she probably had little more than a couple of months, she did something completely wacky... 

Brilliant, really...

She ran for public office.

My amazing SuperHusband surprised me with these gorgeous roses, and they reminded me of the surprise quilt I started for my mother before she got so sick.  Now that she's on the mend and we're back to some kind of normal routine, I'm going to finish it.
