Big Boy's here!

Well, sadly, I've waited so long to make any kind of big announcement about the baby, that it's sort of anticlimactic by now. Most anyone who reads already knows via e-mail that SuperHusband and I have a wonderful new addition, but act surprised anyway, okay?

Here goes...

IT'S A BOY!! Our Big Boy was born in mid-June, (miraculously on the due date), at 1:09 a.m. He weighed 6 lbs, 15oz, and latched-on like a champ. (If you don't know what that means, you will when you have a baby.) I have to brag for a minute and say I labored completely drug-free. There's a longer, funnier rendition of that story, but it'll have to wait for another day. Clearly, all attempts to write long, funny posts have gone by the wayside, and as a result, I haven't posted anything since April. (I have about five "very nearly ready" posts in the hopper.)

Our boy is a little doll -- eight weeks now -- and we had the opportunity to take family photos on Sunday. At the website below, you'll also find some maternity shots that were taken a few days before his birth.

I've been doing a little professional photography off and on for the last year and a half, and I have the good fortune to have a couple of friends who know their way around a camera pretty well. So for all our professional shots, we just set up the studio in the living room, and our friend Amy comes over. She took most of the pictures, but I can claim many of the ones of SuperHusband and Big Boy. I couldn't be any prouder of my handsome men...Hope you enjoy!

  1. The photos are great! Colin is such a cute boy, you look fabulous! What a wondeful family you have. :)

  2. It is about time you updated this blog. I am totally jealous of your pictures. I feel like such a slacker. You have a very photgenic family!

  3. The pictures over on shutterfly are great. The first one makes it look like Keith is a magician (and maybe a bad one at that) who is about to make Colin disappear!

  4. Thanks, guys! Greg, funny you should mention the magician thing; that seems to be the reaction most people have to that picture. My mom, of course, just said, "He's too pretty of a baby to be all squished up like that." :)
